John obtained a degree in Elementary education from Ball State in 1995 and immediately began teaching and coaching basketball. While the shooting coach at Gonzaga College High School, John was hired as the personal shooting coach for NBA stars Ben Wallace and Tony Delk. This launched John’s career into professional basketball. He was a shooting coach for the CBA and it’s successor, the NBA Development League. During that time he was also working as a shooting coach for teams and basketball camps in such diverse places as Jordan, the Phillippines, and South Korea. 

More recently he has been the shooting coach for the Sacramento Kings and Portland TrailBlazers.
